Chesterfield continue to add defensive depth to their squad ahead of the new season, having acquired the services of former Gillingham full-back Remeao Hutton.
Hutton, 27, initially remained under contract with The Gills heading into the 2026/27 campaign but agreed a mutual termination of that deal to facilitate a switch to the SMH Group Stadium.
His arrival follows those of Junior Eccleston, who early indications suggest will also be competing for game time in the right-back role, and centre-halves Alfie Pond and Jack Simpson in forming part of a necessary and long-anticipated overhaul of The Blues’ back line.
