Chesterfield FC Women are through to the first round proper of the Women's FA Cup after defeating sixth-tier side Thurmaston DPC Women 10-0 at the Erwin Training Ground.

There was early drama when Thurmaston goalkeeper Zoe Hill was shown a straight red card after only six minutes, when she was adjudged to have handled the ball outside her 18-yard penalty area. However, despite going down to 10 players, the visitors battled hard and made life difficult for the hosts. The Spireites then suffered a setback during the midway stage of the first half, as centre-back Sasha Brassington picked up an injury and needed to be replaced.
