Goals from Dilan Markanday and Lee Bonis earned Chesterfield a 2-2 draw against a Bohemians XI side at Dalymount Park in the Spireites' latest pre-season friendly ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

It was a fast start for the hosts as Douglas James-Taylor squared the ball to Zane Myers to slot home from around 12 yards out after only five minutes played. Ryan Boot was then forced into action as Chesterfield were cut apart through the middle which saw Connor Parsons' effort saved by the Spireites goalkeeper.

The first opportunity for Chesterfield fell after 16 minutes when Liam Mandeville’s through ball for Lee Bonis saw the Northern Irishman’s shot saved by Kacper Chorzka. Bohemians doubled their advantage shortly before the midway point of the first half, after Dayle Rooney’s corner kick was easily headed home by Cian Byrne. Myers almost bagged his brace before the interval, but saw his shot whistle past the post.
