Chesterfield will be looking to put recent away disappointments behind them as they head out on the road again to take on Port Vale this weekend.

The Spireites were seemingly heading towards a relatively routine victory at Crawley Town last time out, before Gianmarco Di Biase came off the bench to bag a brace (the first from the penalty spot) which saw them slip from a 2-0 lead to an eventual 2-2 draw.

That came just two weeks after a trip to Cheltenham Town which, despite hefty spells of dominance, ultimately ended in a 2-1 defeat.

Sandwiched between those games was an encouraging 4-2 triumph over Tranmere Rovers at the SMH Group Stadium, and performance levels across all three matches sighted above were, despite differing outcomes, largely positive.
