Chesterfield will look to get their 2026/27 League Two campaign truly up and running when they travel to face Salford City on Saturday lunchtime.
The Spireites have so far begun the new season with a pair of 1-0 defeats to Fleetwood Town; first on the road in the Carabao Cup first round and then at the SMH Group Stadium during last weekend’s opening batch of league fixtures.
And having ended things in the 2025/26 campaign by losing a two-legged play-off semi-final against Notts County by the same scoreline, that means The Blues have now failed to find the net in four consecutive competitive matches.
