Unbeaten Run Comes To An End For Spireites Women

Chesterfield FC Women's three-game unbeaten run in all competitions came to an end on Sunday with a 2-0 defeat to Lye Town Women at Debdale Sports Park in the FA Women's National League Division One Midlands.
The Spireites created two big opportunities inside the opening half hour. Ruby Shore was clean through on goal after 12 minutes but was denied by an excellent save from Pharyn Ashton. Ashton then went on to produce an impressive stop to prevent Imogen Fowler from finding the net just before the half-hour mark. In a very close game, the visitors struck the woodwork with a long-range shot after 32 minutes. With half-time looming, the deadlock was finally broken, but it was Lye who made the breakthrough thanks to Tash Baptiste.
