Chesterfield have signed Latvian Under-21 international Danny Aņisjko following a trial at the club. Paul Cook was obviously impressed with the former Nottingham Forest youth player and has offered him a one-year deal.
Aņisjko is Chesterfield’s seventh signing of the summer as Cook’s side are starting to shape up in what he hopes to be a season ending with promotion. While Aņisjko was born in England, his father is Latvian and his mother is Ecuadorian. He represented Latvia at U19 level in the Baltic Cup.
The winger’s development was curtailed last year when he underwent a cruciate ligament injury and had an operation in November 2024. He was back playing for Nottingham Forest’s development side last season and managed to train with the first team on occasions.
