Marsh Joins The Spireites On Loan

Louie Marsh has joined Chesterfield on loan from Championship outfit Sheffield United for the rest of the 2026/27 season.
The 22 year-old striker had a loan stint at Scottish Premiership side Falkirk last season and scored one goal for the Bairns in nine competitive appearances. He has also had previous loan spells at Fleetwood Town and Doncaster Rovers and has international experience with two caps and one goal for England at U20 level.
With only one goal scored from open play from four competitive matches so far this season, manager Paul Cook clearly felt that the club's forward line needed strengthening. Will Dickson and Ruel Sotiriou are both out injured while Will Grigg hasn't featured at all yet for the Spireites in this campaign despite being available for selection. Understandably, this has prompted plenty of speculation about the Northern Ireland international's future at Chesterfield.
With only Lee Bonis and Fraser Bryden as options to lead the Spireites attack, Marsh has been added with the hope of making an instant impact.
The Sheffield-born forward could potentially make his Chesterfield debut when the Derbyshire side host Gillingham in League Two on Tuesday evening at the SMH Group Stadium.
Tomorrow night is also when the Premier League and EFL transfer window shuts. The deadline takes place at 11pm. Will there be any more ins and outs to come? We shall soon find out.
