Attacking Stars Show Their Shine In Spireites Sprint Finish | Tranmere Rovers (H) Analysis
04.10.26, 17:55 4 Minute Read
Chesterfield secured a swift return to winning ways on Saturday and in some style too, eventually seeing off Tranmere Rovers 4-2 at the SMH Group Stadium in League Two.
Dilan Markanday and Louie Marsh struck either side of a goal from visiting substitute Dylan Jones, before Josh Koroma also came off the bench to score twice and seal victory for the home side.
There was still time for Jacob Slater to register a late consolation, but that did little to take the shine off a strong Spireites showing and a strong finish in particular, with three of their four goals coming past the 83rd minute.
It couldn’t really be said that flurry led to the scoreline flattering Paul Cook’s team, however, with Opta’s preliminary data for the weekend’s fixtures having them down for 26 shots, 10 on target and a total expected goals figure of 2.57 (compared to six, three and 0.51xG for Tranmere, for reference.)
