Chesterfield secured their first victory of the 2026/27 season yesterday following a 1-0 win over Salford City at the AIG Stadium. Lee Bonis scored the only goal of the game after just two minutes.

Now for some reason, Bonis hasn’t done a post-match or even pre-match interview since being (wrongly) credited with a goal at Cheltenham Town last season. Every time he has been requested by the press, he either gives a straight forward no, or escapes quickly to the team bus. I haven’t the foggiest why - one excuse last season was that he was playing well and didn’t want to interrupt his performances by talking about them!
