Chesterfield were defeated in their opening League Two game of the season at the SMH Group Stadium by the same opponents and the same scorer as last weekend's exit from the EFL Cup. Former Spireite Ched Evans did the damage with a spectacular effort 10 minutes before half time, as Chesterfield couldn’t find an equaliser for a second consecutive week.

I felt Chesterfield started with positive energy - the crowd were up for it as were the players. The Spireites had several chances without actually testing Fleetwood goalkeeper Jay Lynch. Ruel Sotiriou, who could have had a hat-trick within 21 minutes, and Josh Koroma all missed the target with their efforts.
