Chesterfield will hope a return to the SMH Group Stadium sparks a return to winning ways when Colchester United come to Derbyshire on Tuesday evening.
The Spireites successfully saw off Tranmere Rovers 4-2 in their most recent home outing on October 3 but that has since been followed by a couple of frustrating weekends out on the road, albeit with those frustrations likely coming from slightly different places.
Paul Cook’s side actually played pretty well for significant periods down at Crawley Town but managed to squander a 2-0 lead and ultimately left with just a draw.
That was then followed by Saturday’s trip to Port Vale, which was largely a non-event outside of what proved to be the only goal of the game from the hosts’ Onel Hernández.
