Spireites Match Preview: Newport County (A)
29.10.26, 15:53 3 Minute Read
Chesterfield will look to maintain the momentum gathered from Saturday’s comfortable win over Crewe Alexandra when they travel to Newport County on Friday night in League Two.
The Spireites produced a stunning performance to seal a 5-1 victory last time out with Josh Koroma, Tom Naylor, Fraser Bryden and Liam Mandeville all finding the net.
Crewe’s Josh Stephenson also scored into his own goal within a scarcely believable first 45 which concluded with Paul Cook’s side already 5-0 up.
The key now will be to prove that result, which snapped in some style a three-game winless run, wasn’t a fluke and could be the beginning of their generally solid performances being matched with more consistent positive results.
