Spireites Women Discover FA Cup Opponents

Chesterfield FC Women have been drawn at home against sixth-tier side Thurmaston DPC Women in the third qualifying round of the Women's FA Cup. The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday 4th October with the venue and kick-off time to be confirmed.
The Spireites will go into this cup tie as favourites. Thurmaston play two tiers below Pete Jarvis' side in the East Midlands Women's Division One Central league. If Chesterfield can avoid a cup upset here, they will advance to the first round proper of the competition.
In last season's campaign, Chesterfield FC Women (then a fifth-tier side) were eliminated in the second qualifying round after losing 5-1 away at Bradford City Women. With the Spireites now playing in the fourth tier, they automatically enter this year's tournament at the third qualifying round stage.
Chesterfield FC Women are next in action this coming Sunday when they host Sheffield FC Women at the SMH Group Stadium in Group R of the FA Women's National League Cup. They will be looking to return to winning ways after losing 2-0 to Lye Town Women last weekend in the FA Women's National League Division One Midlands at Debdale Sports Park.
