Spireites Handed Home Tie In Women's FA Cup Second Round Draw
26.10.26, 20:20 2 Minute Read
Chesterfield FC Women will host fellow FA Women's National League Division One Midlands side Leafield Athletic Ladies in the second round of the Women's FA Cup. The game will take place on Sunday 15th November.
Leafield have made an excellent start to the 2026/27 campaign and currently find themselves sitting four points clear at the top of the league. The West Midlands side are still unbeaten in the league and narrowly defeated Chesterfield 1-0 at home earlier this season back in August.
While Leafield will be very tough opponents, Pete Jarvis' side will be confident that they can progress to the third round of the tournament. Chesterfield have adapted well to life in the fourth tier and occupy fifth position in the table, with four victories from their opening seven matches.
The Spireites secured their place in the second round in dramatic circumstances last weekend, after defeating Harpenden Town FC Women 3-2 on penalties following a goalless draw after 90 minutes.
If the Blues can eliminate Leafield, they could potentially face a Women's Super League 2 (second tier) side in the third round.
Chesterfield FC Women are next in action on Thursday evening when they take on Sheffield FC Women away from home in the FA Women's National League Division One Midlands. The Spireites will be aiming to stretch their unbeaten run in all competitions to six games.
In other news from today, Chesterfield FC have confirmed that they have sold out their away allocation for the men's team's upcoming Jersey Mike's Trophy group match against arch-rivals Mansfield Town on November 10.
