Chesterfield climbed back into League Two’s play-off places on Saturday and in significant style too, cruising to a 5-1 win over Crewe Alexandra at the SMH Group Stadium.

Josh Koroma, Tom Naylor, Fraser Bryden, Liam Mandeville and an own goal had the Spireites 5-0 up during what was a scarcely believable first 45 minutes, before visiting substitute Charlie McNeill registered what could just barely be described as a consolation after the break.

Three of those scorers (Naylor, Bryden and Mandeville) had only been recalled to the starting XI ahead of this fixture, forming part of a broader quintuple switch which also saw returns for goalkeeper Zach Hemming and full-back Tom Pearce.
