Chesterfield defeated Manchester City U21 5-3 at the SMH Group Stadium on Tuesday evening in the Spireites' first group game of this season's EFL Trophy. The result marked a second victory in a row for Chesterfield in all competitions and sets Paul Cook's side up nicely for this weekend's big League Two fixture at home against York City.

Without further ado, let's take a look at the talking points following Tuesday night's cup win:

Enjoyable Game

I enjoyed that. Two sides that were committed to playing passing football at pace, with eight goals and a whole host of chances and talent on show. We managed to see what some Chesterfield youngsters have to offer, plus the experience and knowhow from the likes of Tom Naylor and the returning Chey Dunkley.
