Will Grigg Leaves Chesterfield As A Club Legend
23.10.26, 16:49 4 Minute Read
Chesterfield has confirmed that Will Grigg has joined National League outfit Forest Green Rovers on a permanent deal. While the Northern Ireland international has had limited playing time with the Spireites this season, the news still comes as a sad one for the club's fan base. With 43 goals from 118 competitive appearances, Grigg will go down as one of the most important strikers in the club's history.
There was a huge sense of excitement when rumours started flying around that Grigg was going to join Chesterfield. When it was confirmed in June of 2023 that he had signed from Milton Keynes Dons for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal, it really felt like a statement of intent from the club. It was Chesterfield's time to return to the Football League – and Will Grigg was the man to lead the line and guide us there.
