Shore Earns Three Points For The Spireites

Chesterfield FC Women secured their first league win since the opening day of the season with a narrow 1-0 victory over Kidderminster Harriers Women at Debdale Sports Park on Sunday.
Ruby Shore's goal midway through the first half proved to be the difference between the two sides. Tilly Hallas-Potts was sent off during the closing stages of the match following a second bookable offence, but the hosts hung on to claim all three points.
The victory sees Pete Jarvis' side move up to seventh position out of 12 teams in the FA Women's National League Division One Midlands, with two wins and two defeats from their opening four league matches.
The Spireites have adapted well to life in the fourth tier since winning last season's East Midlands Women's Premier Division title and earning promotion. At the time of writing, Chesterfield have the best defensive record in the division this season with just two goals conceded so far.
Their next game is this coming Thursday evening when they travel to third-tier Loughborough Lightning in Group R of the FA Women's National League Cup. This is a rearranged match after the initial cup game against Loughborough was abandoned in the second half due to thunder, lightning and torrential rain.
In other news, sixth-tier Chesterfield FC Community Trust Women got their new league campaign off to a sensational start on the opening day. They defeated the Notts County Women Development side 8-0 away from home in the East Midlands Women's Division One North league.
